Sounds

Today's Wireless Communications lecture saw Mervert, Pervert and I in a fit of giggles.

AP Ng was trying to let us listen to a sound (because he said that bird chirps are made up of sound waves of low frequencies that end in high frequencies), and as he adjusted it to higher frequencies gradually, we, of course, heard a higher pitch. It got to some point where it was rather high and somewhat squeaky, really like that of a chirp.

Suddenly, he asked, "Can you hear anything now?"

We turned to each other in bemusement and just then, he walked over to turn up the volume when he saw some of us nod.

"Still can't hear anything, right?" he asked as he cocked his head to his right in an attempt to hear what all of us could but he apparently couldn't.

Then Mervert started saying that maybe it was because we lose the hearing of higher frequencies (maybe the lower too? I'm not sure haha) as we age, and that could be why we heard the sound that he couldn't. Then we burst into giggles.

Wahaha. That happened not just once! He let us listen to other sounds too, and always made a point of not being able to catch the sounds at the higher frequencies while we could. Hahaha. =P

Okay, it doesn't seem as funny when read. Haha. =P
